Accessibility Statement
Published: January 2026  ·  Last reviewed: March 2026  ·  The Recruitment Compass
The Recruitment Compass is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our site.
Section 1
Our Commitment

The Recruitment Compass believes that equal access to career opportunities and information is a fundamental right. Our website exists to connect people — regardless of background, nationality, or physical ability — with life-changing employment pathways. That mission only holds meaning if our digital presence is accessible to everyone who needs it.

We are committed to ensuring that www.therecruitmentcompass.com meets the accessibility standards set out by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA conformance level.

Section 2
Standards We Follow

Our accessibility efforts are guided by the following frameworks:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — The globally recognized standard for web accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We aim for full AA conformance across all pages.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — U.S. federal law requiring places of public accommodation, including websites, to be accessible to people with disabilities.
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — Federal standards for accessible electronic and information technology, which inform our design and development practices.

Our website is built on the Squarespace platform. We have selected an accessible template and apply custom code and content practices aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.

Section 3
The Four WCAG Principles

WCAG 2.1 is organized around four principles. Here is how we apply each to our Site:

👁️
Perceivable
All content is presented in ways that can be perceived by all users. Images include descriptive alt text. Color is not the only means of conveying information. Text meets minimum contrast ratios.
⌨️
Operable
All functionality is accessible via keyboard. Navigation is consistent and logical. No content flashes at rates that could cause seizures. Users have sufficient time to read and interact with content.
💬
Understandable
Text is readable and written in plain language. Pages behave predictably. Forms include clear labels and error messages. Language is set correctly in the HTML for screen readers.
🔧
Robust
Content is built to be interpreted reliably by a wide range of user agents, including current and future assistive technologies. We use valid, semantic HTML and ARIA attributes where appropriate.
Section 4
Current Conformance Status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. We are actively working to address these areas.

Section 5
Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to resolve them:

  • Decorative animated elements — The animated compass rose and countdown timers may not be fully described to screen reader users. Alternative text descriptions are being added.
  • Emoji usage — Some pages use emoji characters. We are adding aria-label attributes to ensure they are read meaningfully by screen readers.
  • Third-party embedded content — Any content embedded from third-party providers (such as payment portals) is subject to that provider's own accessibility practices, which are outside our direct control.
  • Legacy page templates — Some older pages may not yet reflect our current accessibility standards. We are auditing and updating these systematically.
Section 6
Assistive Technology Compatibility

We test our website for compatibility with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse)
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • High contrast mode in Windows and macOS
  • Voice control software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking / Voice Control on iOS)

If you experience difficulty using any assistive technology with our website, please contact us — your report directly informs our improvement roadmap.

Section 7

Section 8
ADA Compliance

The Recruitment Compass is committed to complying with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation, including websites accessible to the public.

If you believe that our website is not compliant with the ADA and our efforts to remedy any issues have been insufficient, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division at www.ada.gov. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can work directly with you to address your needs.

Section 9
Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time fix — it is an ongoing commitment. TRC's approach to continuous improvement includes:

  • Regular accessibility audits of all new and updated pages before publication
  • Incorporating accessibility review as a standard part of our content creation process
  • Monitoring Squarespace platform updates for accessibility improvements
  • Acting on user feedback promptly and documenting all remediation actions
  • Reviewing this Accessibility Statement at least annually and after major site updates
